Results

The major PROJECT OUTPUTS and RESULTS:

  • Engineering, design, manufacturing, installation and first industrial application of 4m3/week capacity liquid and 8m3/week capacity PROTECTOR Solid Substrate Fermentation and Formulation System (SSFF).
  • The 4m3/week capacity liquid fermentation process (including industrial nutrient strategy) has been successfully optimised, for efficient production of the selected ecosafe bacteria and fungus.
  • The 8m3 /week capacity industrial SSFF system has been developed and optimized for rapid microbial colonization of the animal bone char carrier.
  • Rapid and cost efficient quality control methods have been developed and applied.
  • The PROTECTOR technology has been successfully field tested over 18 months. The trials included an additional 6 months industrial testing and full scale production of 25 tonnes animal bone charcoal from food industrial waste resulting in 25 tonnes of high added value
    agricultural PROTECTOR.
  • The performance of PROTECTOR products have been validated under field and greenhouse conditions, with a range of high value food crop plants and has produced excellent results.
  • The full PROTECTOR life cycle meets all major international,industrial and environmental norms and standards.
  • PROTECTOR technology application & process manuals have been prepared.
  • Thanks to the Eco-innovation funding, the small scale industrial replication has been successfully achieved. These results will be
    crucial to the later development of large scale production plants.
